  • Should my Shicken products be frozen when they were delivered?
    All orders are disptached from our kitchens frozen at -20C and packed in thermal packaging case with ice packs, however the products may thaw when they are delivered. Our products are completely safe to store in your home freezer or chiller.
  • Where should I store the Shicken products in the freezer or chiller?
    The Shicken products can be stored in the freezer and consumed over two months to the use by date that is applied on the packaging. Or You can also store the Shicken products in your chiller when they are delivered and consume them within 2 days of them being delivered.
  • If I'm not home when my order is delivered what can I do?
    When your order is on its way you will receive a text message and email from our courier partner (DHL or DPD) confirming the 1-hour delivery slot, at this point you can contact them to leave your parcel in a safe place or with a neighbour.
  • Does your packaging contain any plastic?
    All the Shicken meals, snacks and rice products are packed into biodegradable trays and lids which can be disposed of in your compost or home food waste bin. The card sleeves and stickers are made from cardboard and paper and these can be disposed of in your recycling bin.
  • Do the Shicken meals have to be heated in a micowave?
    Our meals can be heated in a microwave in the biodegradable trays they are packed in, alternatively you can leave the meals in the fridge overnight and then cook them in a pan on the stove. Unfortunately our meals cannot be heated in the oven as the biodegradable trays are not oven safe. Our snack selection products are best heated in an oven to ensure they are crispy when cooked.
  • What are your delivery charges?
    We offer free delivery on most orders over the value of £40, free delivery for our Meal-For-One and Meal-For-Two products. For other order values and volumes the delivery charge will be calculated at the checkout.
  • When will my order be delivered?
    We currently deliver 4 days a week, the delivery days are based on when you place your order: Order Monday - Delivery Wednesday Order Tuesday - Delivery Thursday Order Wednesday - Delivery Friday Order Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday - Delivery Tuesday We currently do not deliver on the Weekends due to current Covid situation.
  • What do I do with the outer carboard box and thermal packaging?
    The outer box, internal thermal packaging and ice-packs can be disposed of in your home recycling bin. We are currently trialling a returns option where customers can post back the outer box, thermal packaging and ice-packs back to us to receive a discount voucher they can then use for their next purchase and we can reuse the packaging.
  • What happens if my order is not delivered?
    We are really sorry if you have experienced a problem with your delivery, the responsibility to get your box of Shicken products delivered to your door is totally ours. Please send us an email here and one of our Customer Care team members will sort out any problems.
